Heating and Cooling System Maintenance
The air-conditioning & heating systems installed in your new home will provide you with many years of comfort if given proper care & maintenance. In order to keep both of the systems operating at maximum efficiency, you should have them checked and serviced by a professional serviceman at least twice a year.
Thermostats are calibrated to within plus or minus 5 degrees. The best performance will be realized when the thermostat is left at one setting around the clock and the ‘fan’ switch is in the ‘ON’ position.
Remember to change or replace the filters every 60 days. If you don’t clean or replace your filters the furnace cannot breathe and may become too hot and shut down. This is one of the most frequently overlooked details of normal maintenance.
Popping or pinging sounds are the natural result of ductwork heating & cooling as air flows through the system. This expansion & contraction of the metal is normal. It is not possible to eliminate these sounds.
